Storyboarding is critical to developing a montage. A montage is a collation of shots to depict a story. The storyboard provides a visual of the montage prior to collating the images/videos/graphics and sound.
The storyboard outlines the separation and the hope of a reunion for an elderly couple. It opens with a train at the station a visual of a bell and clock setting the mood of departute. As the man stands at the border his partner is in the distance ...waiting. As he travels on his journey he sees the others gone before him and the sadness ensues as he thinks of who he's leaving behind. His partner waits in the rain reflecting the distance growing between them. The journey starts off foggy and then gets darker as the light fades. The withered tree, candle and dandelion clock show his time is passing and the fragility of life.
The story finishes with the couple together again, the hope of an afterlife or the love held at the border between memory and present.
